# Contact dotsearch.us

dotsearch.us is a search tool over public FMCSA records, operated by an independent business of the same name. Use the form on this page to report a figure that misstates the FMCSA record, a security problem or a question about the site; messages go to the site’s admin request queue and are never published.

## Where each request belongs

Requests and the place that can act on them

| You want to | Use |

| Hide a personal phone, email or officer name on dotsearch.us | The [data removal form](/data-removal), with the USDOT number |
| Report a page that misstates the FMCSA record or a derived field (Authorized, the biennial window, an out-of-service rate) | This form, topic Correction, with the USDOT number and the page address |
| Report a security problem with the site | This form, topic Security report: what you found and how to reproduce it. The same route is listed in [security.txt](/.well-known/security.txt) |
| Ask about an account or a plan | This form, or the chat button at the bottom right of each page |

## Send a message

## What happens next

Messages are read in the admin request queue. When a page is at fault, the fix goes into the code or data that built it, so every page built the same way changes together; changes to how figures are computed are listed on the [methodology page](/methodology#corrections) with their dates. When a page matches the FMCSA record, the correction has to be made at the FMCSA. Sending a message creates no obligation and no reply time is promised (see the [terms](/terms)).
